General conditions

 

The Bovag standard conditions for Car rental, which are filed with all Chambers of Commerce and all court registries in the Netherlands, apply to all deliveries and business. You can read these conditions in the downloadable PDF document.

Driver's license and age

The driver must be at least 18 years old and have a Dutch B driver's license or equivalent which is valid in the Netherlands. For intermediate class cars a minimum age of 21 applies and the driver must have had his driver's license for at least 1 year.

Identification

The driver must be at least 18 years old and have a Dutch B driver's license or equivalent which is valid in the Netherlands. From intermediate classes cars (class C, Opel Astra) a minimum age of 21 applies and the driver must have had his driver's license for at least 1 year.

For rental, valid, double identification (passport or identity card and driver's license) is required, plus a recent bank statement (less than 30 days old) to verify the place of residence. For companies, this should be a recent business extract from the Trade Register (less than six months old) plus a copy of the driver's licenses of all drivers of the rental car.

Deposit

When picking up the car, the lease holder has to pay a deposit. The deposit amount is calculated by increasing the expected rental amount with the amount of the deductible plus € 100.00 (among other things for covering of fuel costs). Payment of the deposit is only possible by Credit Card.

Insurance

All cars have third-party liability, comprehensive collision and a personal accident insurance within the coverage area of the so-called "green card", the international car insurance card. The maximum number of insured passengers is 5 for passenger cars, 9 for passenger vans and 3 for vans.

 

Deductible


The deductible for non-recoverable damage within the 15 countries that where member states of the EU before 1 May 2004 is:

For passenger cars: € 900.00 per incident for drivers aged 24 years and older. For drivers younger than 24 years a € 1000.00 deductible applies. You can lower the deductible for € 9.00 per day to € 150.00 (age > 24 years) or € 250.00 (age < 24 years)

For category P and small delivery vans (class BA, BB, BC and BD): € 1000.00 per incident for drivers aged 24 years and older. For drivers younger than 24 years a € 1100.00 deductible applies. You can lower the deductible for € 9.00 per day to € 200.00 (age > 24 years) or € 300.00 (age < 24 years).

The vehicles in the P category are: P91, PR, PR1, P712 and P72 

For delivery vans, class BF: € 1300.00 per incident for drivers aged 24 years and older. For drivers younger than 24 years a € 1400.00 deductible applies. You can lower the deductible for € 15.= per day to € 250.00 (age > 24 years) or € 350.00 (age < 24 years)
   

For vans, a remaining additional € 1,500.00 deductible applies for overhead damage.


International travel

 

Additional insurance for replacement transport is compulsory when traveling outside of the Netherlands. You can take out an insurance yourself (for example IRK Plus from the ANWB) or you can use MultiRent's international insurance. For more information, read the FAQ under the heading "International travel". Additional conditions apply for rental for use outside the borders of these 15 EU countries.
